SAGUARO MUSIC 5

Updated: Dec 24, 2022

"These are just our stepping stones..."

2021

For starters since I had just graduated all I was focused on was work. Organizing my classroom, reading music ed forums, looking for books to help the curriculum. It's fun, even got me thinking to pursue a masters, but that's a talk for another time.

"The studio was a complete rats nest!"

For the bulk of 2021, in what seems like a fast blended blur, I reorganized the business. And started giving private lessons and writing music (producing and composing).

Well, there was really nothing to be done with Saguaro and at the space. The studio was a complete rats nest! Not only did I leave it alone for to long, it was mostly used for storage. So it was time to clean up and make the studio space look nice.

I like to prepare for things so I had cables in boxes. Normally they go connected to gear so why not put them to use.

After emptying the cables and organizing by length. I emptied out all cardboard boxes. Recycling them of course.

There was a lot of trash and everyone involved was happy it was finally out. Can't believe I let this much accumulate. It won't happen again because of our new policy. As soon as the gear is out of the box, the box is out of the office.

The room looks pretty good. Now, time for the biggest area that needs cleaning. There was so much trash that needed to be cleared. I am dumbfounded with the trash a non-functioning studio could create.

A lot of the diy projects had to go and that was okay. The DIY stuff was a huge time eater. It took away from working on music and I was not able to host people with all of this laying around.

Although building things can be fun. If you do not have the appropriate equipment or the time to do it. Not recommended.

After clearing out the trash. It was time to organize cables and set up panels. Sadly that was the bulk of the year. So I was not able to get a lot done before the new school year started again.

And the first few weeks are rough.

Due to time I was not able to get more work done in the studio. All I have been able to do is flip gear, write songs, and buy gear. I really wanted to do more with the studio space and more with the name of Saguaro Music.

Since nothing much could be done besides clean, I just waited for more time to get some work done.

The year did end with a bang!

I GOT ENGAGED!

Yes, I was nervous for several reasons.

- I didn't want to drop the ring

- My brain started to blank on the speech

- That ring box was really slipping

Although I never had a college graduation, this was for sure a moment to celebrate. A magical moment on one of the happiest places on earth.

Once I had taken care of a lot personal priorities. It was time to focus on the studio.

Thank you for reading and until next time.
