JULY 2020 - DECEMBER 2020
JULY 2020
July started with a massive movement. Not only in the studio space, but in the world. The streets were taken by protesters standing up against the injustices that America has witnessed for far too long. Rightfully so people were upset, Andrew and I were there with them. Wishing we were brave enough to join the picket lines.
Andrew came down to my hometown and started recording some music, touch up the demos we worked on, workshopped some songs, and put together our new studio space (somewhat).
The studio space I am currently in, has a story of its own. What we needed for the space in July, this was perfect. Andrew and I had a blast recording again. There was a lot of creativity happening, and we got some inspiration from recent events.
We need to fix the work flow but that will always be a work in progress.
August 2020
This was my teacher outfit for the semester. Well I changed my shirt and shorts, and other things, but that was essentially the at home teaching outfit.
I was ready for teaching. And teaching online, woo. It was a weird experience doing music to either a quiet screen or a full on ear disaster.
Luckily we had a mute button to control.
I mostly went for a music history route, it was very hard to do rhythm.
The student's were either lagging, not in front of their screen or just not there. Singing was a no because of pandemic restrictions. We were relying on students using technology and software that some teachers didn't know how to use either.
SEPTEMBER 2020 - DECEMBER 2020
Amidst the pandemic I was also able to find the love of my life. We've been going on safe adventures.
It feels like time sits still. Our minutes turn into hours. She's into the same things I am and supports this weird musician life.
And I support her author life. She writes some great stuff.
(She has a pretty neat book for $2)
All we did was travel around (the safest we could) for the first few months we were together. And yes there is still more adventuring to do!
At this point Saguaro was at a stand still. Between finishing classes and working an odd year of teaching, I couldn't find balance with Saguaro in their. Things were getting serious between Mallory and I, that was something we wanted to maintain. Saguaro did sit in the back burner.
While I let it just sit back and collect dust. I did take care of a few things. MOSTLY GRADUATING!
Thanks for reading and until next time!
